- SEP classes are $80 per student
- There will be no multi-student discounts
- All school policies will be in place for SEP programs.
- All courses begin on October 23rd and will run six weeks. Please see schedule below
- All courses will be held before school from approximately 8:10am-9:10am
- Parents are NOT to drop their student off and leave until their student is through the doors when they open at 8:05am.
- SEP courses are taught by T. Clay teachers/staff and are run by the PTO any questions should be directed to PTO at [email protected].
Fall 2023 SEP Class Descriptions
Monday
Calendar Creations (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Miller
Join us in creating a 2024 Calendar- through directive drawings, models, and instruction, students will create a themed calendar using a variety of art materials. Students will also have the option of gift wrapping their calendar at the end of the session to give as a holiday gift.
Cooking for Kids (K -3rd) w/ Ms. Sanford and Ms. Samari
Teaching kids how to cook yummy but simple recipes. Your kids will learn basic cooking skills and have fun eating it! Delicious fun starts here.
All Levels Chess Club (2nd- 5th) w/ Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Melanie Young
This Chess Club is available for all levels, beginner to advanced. At the beginner level, students will learn the basics of chess to build a strong foundation. At the more advanced levels, students will improve their game by learning new strategies. At all levels, good sportsmanship will be nurtured.
Yoga & Art (3rd- 5th) w/ Mrs. Cunningham
Join Mrs. Cunningham for a mindful morning of yoga and art.
You will leave feeling calm, creative, and ready for your day!
Kickball (3rd –5th) w/ Mrs. Curry and Mrs. Hacherl
Kickball is a classic school yard favorite! Get ready for some friendly competition as students will not only have fun playing kickball, but they will also learn the rules, score keeping, sportsmanship, develop leadership skills, and cooperation skills. Team Captains will be randomly picked. We will have a tournament and a Championship game the last 2 weeks of the year to determine the 2023 Fall Kickball Champions. Don’t miss out this year!

Breakfast and Books (K-1st) w/ Ms. Marshall
Kindergarten and 1st grade students are invited to join in for Breakfast and Books! In this SEP, students will listen to a breakfast-themed story and then enjoy breakfast related to the story. Some examples include: If You Give a Pig a Pancake and Woodpecker Wants a Waffle. Some breakfasts may also be themed around fall holidays! *Breakfast and Books is NOT allergy friendly.*
Arts & Crafts (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Sanford and Ms. Samari
Come create with us! Students will be able to use their imagination and have fun creating an artful masterpiece or a different craft each week. All hands on with glitter and glue, paint and Perler beads.
Think Outside the Box (3rd –5th) w/ Mrs. Curry and Mrs. Hacherl
In Think Outside the Box, students will be able to tap into their creativity! We'll discover new ideas, make connections, and discover solutions through a design challenge, science experiment or the option of STEM bins, Legos, games, puzzles, drawing/painting, writing and/or computer games. Students may change their activities weekly or use the same one the entire time.
IMPROV (Exciting Drama) (4th – 5th) w/ Mr. Dove
IMPROV will be a class that allows students to show their inner creativity! The class will be filled with nothing but DRAMA IMPROV GAMES!! Students will use improv games to create scenes, laugh, show their imagination, and have fun! Be ready to be silly and energetic early in the morning!
Archery (Group 1) (5th) w/ Mr. White
Archery Club has been around for a few years and has been a complete success, your son/daughter will be taught the basic skills of holding and using a bow and will be competing to improve their archery skills as they work with a team to earn as many points as possible in a completely safe and controlled setting.

Legos, Building and STEM (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Marshall
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders are invited to collaborate in STEM activities, Legos and building using a wide variety of Legos and building materials! Students can choose to complete Lego/STEM challenges or to design and build freely each week.
Lil Ballers- Drills and Skills (1st -2nd) w/ Mrs. Van Gelder
First and second graders will work on the basic skills of basketball. Students will work on dribbling, ball handling, and passing. We will also work on shooting. If you want your lil baller to get out some energy in the morning while having fun, this is the club for them!
Beginners Chess Club (2nd –5th) w/ Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Melanie Young
This Chess Club is for beginners only. Whether you have never played, played only a few times or it's been a while and want a refresher, this is the class for you. It will be less competitive and more about teaching/reviewing the basics. Of course, good sportsmanship will be nurtured.
3D Design, Print & Paint (3rd –5th) w/ Mr. Taylor
Students will design 3d Models on Tinkercad. Their models will be printed on our 3D Printer, and then they will get to paint their 3D Printed models. All models are printed from PLA (plastic) material. Models are primed and then painted with acrylics. Students can get support from Mr. Taylor (and other club members) for help designing models.
Friendship Bracelet Club (3rd-5th) w/ Ms. Miller
Help spread kindness at T. Clay by joining the Friendship Bracelet Club! Each week we will learn how to create, customize and personalize our own friendship bracelets to keep and share! While we create, we will discuss the qualities of a good friend and have the opportunity to meet new people!
ASL 101 (4th- 5th) w/ Mrs. Parker
Students will learn basic ASL signs including the alphabet, numbers to 10, and common conversation skills. The culminating activity will be signing a song (or two) at the school choir performance on December 12th at 6:30.

In Minecraft Club students will be able to play Minecraft Education with friends in the club (multiplayer) either in Survival or Creative mode. Students can only join worlds hosted by the teachers. Students can bring their device or use an iPad provided by the club. Students who bring their device may use Xbox Controllers or Mice, provided by the club, to play. Headphones are provided for students to use in the club.

A second offering of Archery Group 1 so that more students can participate while maintaining safety. Archery Club has been around for a few years and has been a complete success, your son/daughter will be taught the basic skills of holding and using a bow and will be competing to improve their archery skills as they work with a team to earn as many points as possible in a completely safe and controlled setting.

SEP Policies and Procedures (Fall 2023)
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
- The TCWES teachers hosting an SEP class have a roster of important emergency information for all students who are enrolled in their SEP class.
- All students enrolled in SEP (and the SEP instructors) are required to follow current PWCS and TCWES current guidelines.
- Parents should send a note to school (via email to the instructor) ONLY if their child is NOT going to be attending their SEP class. For all other concerns, please contact the PTO at [email protected].
- If your child is home sick, he or she should NOT attend SEP. *Please reach out to the school nurse for further information regarding current guidance on when a student can return to school after being sick.
- These are morning/before school SEP classes- students should be dropped off at school by 8:10 AM, their SEP instructor will greet them in the lobby. At the end of class, at 9:10 AM, students will be dismissed to their corresponding teachers/classrooms by their SEP instructor. They will be allowed to pick up breakfast at this time (just as they would on any daily arrival to school).
- Children enrolled in SACC will be released/escorted by a SACC instructor to the lobby to meet their SEP instructor at 8:10 AM.
- If a parent has any concerns with a class, SEP instructor, another parent or student, please email [email protected]. These programs are run through the PTO and not school administration.
- If a class is canceled, every effort will be made to reschedule. There are no refunds for SEP classes.
