SEP classes are open to PTO members first prior to releasing to the entire community. PTO members are given 48 hours to register before links are open to the school community. SEP programs will follow all school and PWC guidelines.
- SEP classes are $80 per student
- There will be no multi-student discounts
- All school policies will be in place for SEP programs.
- All courses begin on October 21st and will run six weeks. Please see schedule below
- All courses will be held before school from approximately 8:10am-9:10am
- Parents are NOT to drop their student off and leave until their student is through the doors when they open at 8:05am.
- SEP courses are taught by T. Clay teachers/staff and are run by the PTO any questions should be directed to PTO at [email protected].
Fall 2024 SEP Class Descriptions
Monday
Breakfast and Books(K-2nd) w/ Ms. Marshall
This class is a favorite- Please join us on Monday mornings for Breakfast and Books! In this SEP, students will listen to a breakfast themed or holiday story and then enjoy breakfast related to the story (examples: Pancakes, Pancakes/If You Give a Moose a Muffin). Students will also have a short period of time to play at the end.
**Breakfast and Books is NOT allergy friendly
Just Crafting Around & Zentangle Art (1st-3rd) w/ Ms. Sanford & Ms. Moreno
Come create with us! Students will use their imagination and have fun creating an artful masterpiece or a different craft each week! Students will also learn Zentangle- a new technique to relax and focus through art.
STEAM Mondays (2nd-5th) w/ Mrs. Hacherl & Mrs. Curry
In STEAM Mondays, students will be able to tap into their creativity! We'll discover new ideas and make connections with Legos, games, puzzles, and/or drawing. Students may change their activities weekly or use the same one the entire time.
Pick- Up Basketball (3rd- 5th) w/ Mr. Taylor & Mrs. Taylor
Pick-Up basketball is open to boys and girls. In this club students will play a variety of pick-up basketball games (3-on-3 to 5-on-5 games as well as playground games Knockout). It is not a "league" in the sense that teams are constantly changing, and there is not explicit coaching; just some fun, recreational games for students who like basketball.
Tuesday
Cooking with Kids (K -3rd) w/ Ms. Sanford & Ms. Moreno
Teaching kids how to cook yummy but simple recipes. Your kids will learn basic cooking skills and have fun eating it! We will prepare breakfast, snacking foods and desserts . *This class is Not allergy friendly. Delicious fun starts here!
Get Up and GO (2nd- 5th) w/ Mrs. Curry and Mrs. Hacherl
Let’s get up and GO! Your student will learn fun activities on how to exercise in a fun and enjoyable way. We will do different exercises and games each week. This will help students learn sportsmanship and develop leadership skills. This is a great way for students to get up and moving so they are ready to learn at school.
Thursday
Legos, Building and STEM Games (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Marshall
In Legos, Building and STEM Games, students will have an opportunity to create, collaborate and problem solve using a wide variety of Legos, building manipulatives and STEM games! We will also work on Lego and STEM challenges each week; students will also have the option to build/create freely.
Kickball (3rd- 5th) w/ Mrs. Curry and Mrs. Hacherl
It's time! This classic school yard favorite returns! Get ready for some friendly competition as students have fun playing kickball, but also learn the rules, score keeping, sportsmanship, develop leadership skills, and cooperation skills. Team Captains will be randomly picked. We will have a tournament and a Championship game the last 2 weeks of the year. Don’t miss out this year!

Everyone gets to play this schoolyard favorite! Get ready for some friendly competition as students have fun playing kickball, but also learn the rules, score keeping, sportsmanship, develop leadership skills, and cooperation skills. Team Captains will be randomly picked. We will have a tournament and a Championship game the last 2 weeks of the year.
Minecraft Club (3rd- 5th) w/ Mr. Taylor & Mrs. Taylor
Minecraft Club is all about having students come together to play multiplayer Minecraft using the Educational version on their school iPad. Students can join a teacher-hosted world for either Survival or Creative mode in a world that is saved from week to week.
Yoga & Art (3rd-5th) w/ Mrs. Cunningham
Start your day in a mindful way with some yoga and art! We will have fun using our creativity and movement to get to know ourselves and each other better. Each session will include an art or crafting project that helps us express ourselves or experience a sense of calm. We will also learn yoga poses and experience creative movement through games and music.

SEP Policies and Procedures (Fall 2024)
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! - by enrolling your student into an SEP program, you agree to follow these policies
- The TCWES teachers hosting an SEP class have a roster of important emergency information for all students who are enrolled in their SEP class.
- All students enrolled in SEP (and the SEP instructors) are required to follow current PWCS and TCWES current guidelines.
- *Once SEP classes have started, refunds will not be offered if a child can no longer attend/chooses not to participate in the enrolled class. We have signed agreements with the SEP teachers that we are obligated to fulfill.
- Parents should send a note to school (via email to the instructor) ONLY if their child is NOT going to be attending their SEP class. For all other concerns, please contact the PTO at [email protected].
- If your child is home sick, he or she should NOT attend SEP. *Please reach out to the school nurse for further information regarding current guidance on when a student can return to school after being sick.
- These are morning/before school SEP classes- students should be dropped off at school by 8:10 AM, their SEP instructor will greet them in the lobby. At the end of class, at 9:10 AM, students will be dismissed to their corresponding teachers/classrooms by their SEP instructor. They will be allowed to pick up breakfast at this time (just as they would on any daily arrival to school).
- Children enrolled in SACC will be released/escorted by a SACC instructor to the lobby to meet their SEP instructor at 8:10 AM.
- If a class is canceled, every effort will be made to reschedule.
- We follow all PWCS inclement weather codes- *However, if PWC Schools have a 2 HR delay, the SEP classes for that day will be rescheduled.
- If a parent has any concerns with a class, SEP instructor, another parent or student, please email [email protected]. These programs are run through the PTO and not school administration.

Clay Wood Elementary School, parents/guardians understand and agree that the said School, its co-organizers, its officials, teachers, or volunteers, will not be held responsible for any injury or accident sustained by any family member, or, for the loss of any property belonging to any family member or anyone else.
