FALL SEP Class Descriptions

MONDAY

Pick-Up Basketball (3rd-5th) w/ Mr. Taylor
In the pick-up basketball club, students come to play some 3-on-3, 5-on-5, as well as other random basketball
games (knockout, king of the court, etc). Unlike the winter basketball club (in January), this club does NOT
have formal teams or playoffs. We casually form new teams for every game we play, and we do not do a ton of
isolated skills practice. We just play basketball and have fun!

Legos/Puzzles/Games (K-5th) w/ Ms. Hacherl
Love building, solving and strategizing? In this club, you’ll unleash your creativity, challenge your brain and have
fun with friends. Whether you are stacking Legos, cracking puzzles or battling it out in your favorite board game,
this is about teamwork, imagination and good times!

Flag Football (2nd-5th) w/ Game Point Athletics
Any season is football season in America! Participants will work on the overhand throw, catching, and play in
thrilling games! To prepare for games, participants will practice basic offensive routes and defensive coverages.
Early elementary kids will enjoy fun lead up games like scarf tag! The plan is for participants to experience a
NFL playoff style tournament with a Super Bowl!!

WEDNESDAY

Legos, Building and STEM Games (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Marshall

In Legos, Building and STEM Games, students will have an opportunity to create, collaborate and problem
solve using a wide variety of Legos, building manipulatives and STEM games! We will also work on Lego and
STEM challenges each week; students will also have the option to build/create freely.

Art Class (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Sanford
We will be creating works of art. Learning new ways to present our art. The children will be using their own
styles to create and learn. So fun to be creative.

iPlay (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Allis
It is a long day of school for our youngest learners. It is so important and beneficial that they are given the time for
unstructured play WITHOUT the use of electronics. The students will be able to play with big Legos, building blocks,
the kitchen area, Barbies/dolls, small Legos, playdough and various other toys. This will help set the students up for a
positive day in their classroom

Minecraft Club (3rd- 5th) w/ Mr. Taylor
Minecraft Club is all about having students come together to play multiplayer Minecraft using the Educational
version on their school iPad. Students can join a teacher-hosted world for either Survival or Creative mode in a
world that is saved from week to week.

Pickleball Club (3rd- 5th) w/ Ms. Hildreth and Ms. Lawhorne
Learn to play pickleball! Students will learn the basic rules and game strategy for playing pickleball. They will
learn to serve, return, dink, volley etc. while having fun playing matches against other students.

THURSDAY

Soccer Sparks(K-2nd) w/ Game Point Athletics
Train like the superstars of the world in this action packed session! Participants will experience all kinds of
exciting soccer activities, including a World Cup style tournament! All participants, regardless of skill level, will
learn and practice basic dribbling, ball control, passing, trapping, defense, and proper offensive movement
without the ball. Soccer requires a lot of endurance, so be prepared to work hard all while having a ton of
FUN!!.

Kickball (2nd- 5th) w/ Mrs. Hacherl
It's time! This classic school yard favorite returns! Get ready for some friendly competition as students have fun
playing kickball, but also learn the rules, score keeping, sportsmanship, develop leadership skills, and
cooperation skills. Team Captains will be randomly picked. We will have a tournament and a Championship
game the last 2 weeks of the year. Don’t miss out this year!

Chess Club (K-5th) w/ Silver Knights Chess Academy
Learn chess with Silver Knights Chess Academy (formerly Magnus Academy)! We’ve taught 100,000 children
to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and
have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to
advanced tournament strategies.
**Extra Fee for Club

 FRIDAY

4-Square (2nd-5th) w/ Mrs. Hacherl
The 4-square club is a fast, fun, energetic playground game where you use quick moves, strategy and
teamwork to stay in the game and rise to the top square. It is easy to learn, exciting to play and always full of
laughs and friendly competition.

TCW Movers Club (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Grahn
TCW Morning Movers is a fun-filled way to wake up and start the day ready to learn and play! This class, set to
energetic music, will be a combination of group games, fitness stations, walking/running outdoors and more for
our youngest students to explore all the many ways they can stay active and establish lifelong healthy habits.
Class will be held outside (weather-permitting) and proper footwear for active movement is required (no dress
shoes/boots/Crocs).

Science Club (3rd-5th) w/ Specialist from Prince William Soil and Water Conservation
Come join me for outdoor adventures to learn about streams, wildlife, soils and what lives down in the ground.
We’ll investigate what a watershed is and who lives there, explore school grounds for wildlife habitats, play
games about wildlife and habitats, and discover why soil isn’t dirt! Each class will have hands-on learning,
exploration time outside (weather permitting), and nature discoveries
