Join us for our Spring 2025 SEP programs. Please note that we have limited amount of space available for these programs. The cost for all programs is $80 per/student with the exception of Chess Club which is $147 and run by Magnus Chess Academy. All programs will be held in the mornings before school starts from 8:10-9:10 time frame. As a Gold member benefit all spaces are opened to Gold members of the PTO first prior to the entire school community. Courses are set to begin the week of February 24th and run for six (6) weeks into April. All programs will follow current school behavior guidelines.

- All SEP classes are $80 per student with the exception of Chess Club. Chess Club will be $147 per student.
- There will be no multi-student discounts
- All school policies will be in place for SEP programs.
- All courses begin the week of February 24th and will run six weeks. Please see schedule below
- All courses will be held before school from approximately 8:10am-9:10am
- Parents are NOT to drop their student off and leave until their student is through the doors when they open at 8:05am.

Winter/Spring 2024 SEP Class Descriptions
Monday
Chess Club (K- 5th)
Did you know there have been many studies that show playing chess has lots of benefits? Just to name a few, they are improving intelligence, memory, empathy, planning/problem solving skills and creative thinking skills!
Not to mention, chess is FUN!
Chess club is available for all levels, beginner to advanced. Students will be matched with opponents of similar ability levels. At the beginner level, students will learn the basics of chess to build a strong foundation. At the more advanced levels, students will improve their game by learning new strategies. At all levels, good sportsmanship will be nurtured!
Four-Square (3rd-5th) w/ Mrs. Hachrel
Fun and engaging program dedicated to playing and mastering the game of Four Square. Our club promotes friendly competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship while improving agility, reflexes, and strategic thinking. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, all players are welcome to join in the excitement.
Tuesday
Puzzles and Games (K-2nd) w/ Mrs. Hacherl
fun and engaging club designed for Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students who love to solve puzzles, play games, and use their thinking skills! Our club encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through a variety of interactive and age-appropriate activities.
Green Thumb Club (K-2nd) w/ Mrs. Miller
Spring is almost here! Join us for the Green Thumb Club. During this SEP, students will explore different plants, discuss plant needs, and plan out a garden. Students will enjoy garden related crafts, listen to books, and enjoy garden related sensory & play activities. At the end of the class, students will take home their very own flowerpot and seeds of choice to extend their plant love at home!
Floor Hockey (3rd- 5th) w/ GamePoint Athletics
Prepare yourselves for the thrilling and fast-flying action of Floor-Hockey Flyers! Participants will learn the fundamentals of floor hockey, practice extensive drills, and work on their skills through super fun drills and even Stanley Cup tournament! This class has a lot of action and designed for the experienced and beginner level hockey player.
Thursday
Legos, Building and STEM Games (K-2nd) w/ Ms. Marshall
In Legos, Building and STEM Games, students will have an opportunity to create, collaborate and problem solve using a wide variety of Legos, building manipulatives and STEM games! We will also work on Lego and STEM challenges each week; students will also have the option to build/create freely.
Kickball (K-2nd) w/ GamePoint Athletics
It's back for Spring! Kickball is a classic school yard favorite and great for our younger students too! So get ready for some friendly competition as students will have fun playing kickball, but
will also learn the rules, score keeping, sportsmanship, develop leadership skills, and cooperation skills.

STEM Challenges (K-2nd) w/ Mrs. Miller
Join us for a morning of STEM fun. Each morning, students will receive a challenge to overcome. Using their critical thinking skills, students will plan, design, and explore a variety of STEM activities! Students will enjoy creating projects using open ended materials and their own creativity!
Friday
Yoga & Art (3rd-5th) w/ Mrs. Cunningham
Start your day in a mindful way with some yoga and art! We will have fun using our creativity and movement to get to know ourselves and each other better. Each session will include an art or crafting project that helps us express ourselves or experience a sense of calm. We will also learn yoga poses and experience creative movement through games and music.
Logic Puzzle/Games (3rd–5th) w/ Ms. Hildreth
Logic Puzzles and Games is an exciting introduction to the world of strategy games and puzzles. Each week students will be introduced to a new game and/or puzzle to help develop their critical thinking skills and strategies. They will learn strategic and critical thinking all while having fun.
Ultimate PE Games (K-2nd) w/ GamePoint Athletics
Do you want to play in the MOST FUN games kids experience in PE class? If yes, this session is for you! A sampling of games to be played are Nerf Dodge, Dome Ball, Capture the Flag, Parachute activities, Omni-kin Ball, and numerous tag games that require strategy and a willingness to have intense joy! The action-packed session ensures kid movement does not stop until is time to go back to class! Kids quickly and often move from one exciting game to the next! Great exercise is guaranteed as younger aged kids play in these classic and modern PE games!

SEP Policies and Procedures
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! Policies have been updated
- The TCWES teachers hosting an SEP class have a roster of important emergency information for all students who are enrolled in their SEP class.
- All students enrolled in SEP (and the SEP instructors) are required to follow current PWCS and TCWES current guidelines.
- We adhere to all current PWCS behavior guidelines. If a behavior concern arises, parents will be notified. If the issue persists, the child will be withdrawn from the SEP class.
- Once SEP classes have started, refunds will not be offered if a child can no longer attend/chooses not to participate in the enrolled class. We have signed agreements with the SEP teachers that we are obligated to fulfill.
- Parents should send a note to school (via email to the instructor) ONLY if their child is NOT going to be attending their SEP class. For all other concerns, please contact the PTO at [email protected].
- If your child is home sick, he or she should NOT attend SEP. *Please reach out to the school nurse for further information regarding current guidance on when a student can return to school after being sick.
- These are morning/before school SEP classes- students should be dropped off at school by 8:10 AM, their SEP instructor will greet them in the lobby. At the end of class, at 9:10 AM, students will be dismissed to their corresponding teachers/classrooms by their SEP instructor. They will be allowed to pick up breakfast at this time (just as they would on any daily arrival to school).
- Children enrolled in SACC will be released/escorted by a SACC instructor to the lobby to meet their SEP instructor at 8:10 AM.
- If a class is canceled, every effort will be made to reschedule.
- We follow all PWCS inclement weather codes- * However, if PWC Schools have a 2 HR delay, the SEP classes for that day will be rescheduled.
- If a parent has any concerns with a class, SEP instructor, another parent or student, please email [email protected]. These programs are run through the PTO and not school administration.

Clay Wood Elementary School, parents/guardians understand and agree that the said School, its co-organizers, its officials, teachers, or volunteers, will not be held responsible for any injury or accident sustained by any family member, or, for the loss of any property belonging to any family member or anyone else.
