Friday Morning
Mr. White
Archery is a highly structured and safe activity in the schools. Every movement is done on command and safety is the top priority. All students will be in groups of 2 or 3 with one person at the bow and the partners behind by the wall. Signals are given when to pick up the bow, when to put the arrow on it (while facing the arrow to the ground in front of them; when to pull back the arrow and when to release the arrow. Then a command for the archers to lay the bow down and another to go retrieve the arrows and bring them back. It's safe and the students will have a lot of fun learning the sport of archery with standard target shooting and tic tac toe, to name 2.
Floor Hockey (3rd-5th grade) (up to 16 participants)
Monday Morning
Mr. White
Floor hockey will be run with 4 different, randomly selected, teams that vary each week. Two teams will play at a time while two teams rest and keep score on the app which is projected to the wall. We'll play a round-robin tournament each week and finish with a single elimination tournament. High-sticking penalties are awarded and students are taught how to perform a safe backswing and follow through. I also teach them to create open lanes for passing and game play.
